My friend Cassie asked me to model for her vintage clothing company, Speak Vintage. It was intimidating, but I have loved modeling ever since.
What excites you about modeling?
Forcing myself to try new things, be creative, and overcome my social anxiety.
Do you come from a background of training in the arts?
Yes, I did ballet from age 3 to 15 and studied art from childhood until my second year of college.
What are your favorite types of outfits to model in?
Anything simple and classic. If it has a modern feel, I still prefer simplicity. My tattoos are so colorful on their own an outfit with too much going on often gets lost on me. Simpler outfits are more striking.
What are your least favorites?
If there’s a lot going on, I don’t mind if it’s coherent. I just don’t like to wear outfits where there isn’t a cohesive theme. Weather it’s a gown or lingerie simpler is better for me.
What is it about Tattoos that intrigues you?
I love that they are beautiful adornments. I also feel like I am making a positive social statement as a woman with tattoos. Having tattoos asserts ownership over my own body. I consciously made the decision to adorn myself knowing fully that it’s not yet completely socially acceptable. It’s a positive more forward in changing beauty paradigms.
Are there any other creative mediums you work in?
I love painting and drawing if I have time.
What kind of music do you like?
I love 77 Punk and Oi! I also love Industrial Music. I was raised on Bluegrass and Outlaw Country, so I will always love that.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like just hanging out on my porch with a few friends drinking beer or going to shows.
